Summary
Dragasevac is an open municipal-waste landfill in the Šimići local community, Vlasenica municipality, in a karst area with permeable ground; the nearest watercourse is the river Tisca about two hundred metres away. Soil and water were tested. Nickel reached a level indicating a need for cleanup in the surface soil downhill from the landfill at both sampled points, and cobalt at one of them. In the nearby river, copper, nickel and lead exceeded the limit for the cleanest water class, lead and nickel markedly.

- In the nearby river, copper, nickel and lead exceeded the limit for the cleanest water class, with lead and nickel falling into the poorest class.
- The landfill is open and sits in a karst area with permeable ground, where water — and any contamination — can move quickly toward the groundwater and the nearby river Tisca.
Positive findings
- In the soil, cadmium, copper, lead, selenium and zinc were within the prescribed limits.
- Oil-related pollution and combustion-related compounds were within the prescribed limits in both soil samples.
- In the river, cadmium, cobalt, manganese, selenium, chromium, iron, mineral oils and combustion-related compounds met the prescribed limits.
